This wine definitely rated a big fat ZERO. In fact, below zero. I've never just poured out an entire bottle before. It was simply nasty. I probably should have taken it back to the store. Maybe there was just a bad batch or something.
When I pulled the cork, there were all these crystals on the bottom of it. The wine itself was pale and sickly looking. Holding the bottle up to the light, I could see sediment.

Your bottle of Orleans Hill Cote Zero was probably old. Sulfite-free wine has a short shelf life, and will get "skunky". Try going to a discounter that sells a lot of wine next time. Don't buy it at the supermarket.
Actually, that particular bottle was purchased at a big wine retailer here in Charlotte. But yes, I imagine the sulfite-free one do have a shorter shelf life, and judging by the fact that it was hard to find, I'm sure they don't have a very large following or turnover on the shelf.
