I went to Landsford Canal State Park in Fort Lawn, SC on Monday to see the spider lilies. This colony of lilies is very large, spanning the Catawba River. It seems to take up about 1/4 of a mile of the river. To really appreciate them, you need to be in a canoe. I'll work very hard to do that next year.
This was taken with my 55-200mm zoom lens. This is one of the few times when I might not have minded having and lugging a longer lens. Maybe someday...when my friend Rena wins the lottery. Of course, I need to get her to actually BUY a lottery ticket!
